About the Artist

Shaowei Lai is a London based multidisciplinary artist, working across painting, drawing and sculpture. She graduated with first class honours in Fine Art Drawing undergraduate degree from University of the Arts London, Camberwell College of Arts. Her creation process starts with her intuition guiding her the choice of medium, she then reflects and learns through the making process, and subsequently performs further research.  Her work recently surrounds the questions of “Can human worthiness be defined as something more innate than how well one performs their tasks/roles perceived by others? How can the interwoven relationships between this conventionally defined Self and the rest of the world be better understood through The Space in Between?”.
